Research Interests and History
Jeff Ge's current research areas include Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing
(CAD/CAM), Robotics and Manufacturing Automation, Mechanical System
Design and Simulation, and Application of Geometric Modeling and Computer
Graphics in Engineering. He is one of the first to bring together the
fields of Geometric Modeling and Kinematics to develop a computational-geometric
framework for motion interpolation and approximation. For work in this
area, he received an Applicon Award for CAD/CAM and its Applications
in 1997 ASME Design Engineering Technical Conferences. He has also been
working on the development of a new methodology for integrated structure/actuator/control
design of high performance computer controlled machinery. He has published
over 60 papers in these areas and has been chair/co-chair/organizer
for over 10 sessions of ASME Design Engineering Technical Conferences.
Jeff Ge is a member of ASME, IEEE, SIAM and ASEE.
