Civil Engineering Welcomes Newest Faculty Member Ci-Jyun Liang

Events-New Faculty - Polar

We are very excited to introduce the newest member of our faculty, Dr. Ci-Jyun Liang.

Dr. Liang received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Robotics from the University of Michigan. He also received M.S. and B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University. Prior to joining Stony Brook University, he worked at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as a Robotics Fellow. His research focuses on developing machine learning-based approaches to advance robot technologies, studying their relationship with human workers, and addressing the challenges of their applications in construction, manufacturing, and warehouses. He envisions in future workplaces, human workers and robots will work together as a team to create a safe and sustainable working environment. Dr. Liang is establishing his research laboratory at SBU, the Collaborative Robots for Occupational Safety and Sustainability (CROSS) Laboratory, which aims to promote safety and sustainability in human-robot collaboration in various workplaces.
