In-kind Software Grant from UGS Valued at $27Million Provides Stony Brook a Next Generation Digital Product Design and Development System

UGS Corp. a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, and Stony Brook University today announced an in-kind software grant with a list price commercial value of $27million that will provide faculty and students of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) with a next generation digital product and development system. Dr. Anurag Purwar visited Dayton T. Brown, Inc., one of the first defense manufacturing companies on Long Island.  While touring the plant and offering the help of mechanical engineering interns (through the SPIR program), Dr. Purwar met and spoke with company founder, Mr. Brown.
